Reporting Relationship:Reports to: CFO, Executive LeadershipSupervises: Receptionist, Accounting Level 1
Job Summary:The Accounting/Bookkeeper directs, administers and manages all aspects of accounting and bookkeeping operations and works closely with the CFO and Executive Leadership to create financial transactions and reports from those transactions.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Customer Service Interfacing: Works closely with managers, customers and vendors to ensure that deposits, payments, entries and reports are timely and accurately completed in a pleasant and motivating manner. Distributes procedures to appropriate personnel after initial accounting procedures have been developed and tested. Serves the management team so they have accurate information and reports to inform decisions.
Data Entry: Directs, performs and supervises the data entry activity to assure that all data is input in an accurate and timely manner, including participating in this activity on a daily basis to maintain all transactions and reports. Also, prepares miscellaneous invoicing, other office duties as directed.
Principal Duties: Pay any debt timely and accurately.Match book inventories to working inventories for assurance of accuracy Modify on hand balances based on physical inventories, research any abnormalities brought to your attention. Organize paperwork. Issue Financial statements. Record receipts and make deposits. Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy. Provide information to outside accountant who creates the company’s financial statements. Maintain the chart of accounts. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
Budgeting: Helps in budget development for the facility, and works closely with Management in supplying historical revenue and expense dollars, Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management as requested.
Labor Management: Directs all operations of accounting department. Applies sound communication and motivational techniques; creates programs and supervise, counsel and discipline subordinates. Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested, and display a positive attitude by leading by example.
Qualifications:Experience or Training Required:• Type at least 50 words per minute• Previous computer experience. Quickbooks preferred.• 2 years public accounting or the equivalent.
